Money Trail ("the App") is a personal finance management application designed to help users track expenses and manage their financial activities. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

Information We Collect

Financial Data (Stored Locally): All financial information you enter — including accounts, transactions, budgets, categories, and balances — is stored only on your device using local storage. This data is not transmitted to our servers and we do not have access to your financial records.

Google Sign-In (Optional): If you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive your name, email address, and profile picture. This information is used solely for account identification and optional cloud backup. We do not sell or share this data.

Cloud Sync (Optional — Firebase): If you enable cloud synchronisation, your data is securely stored using Google Firebase Firestore. This feature is completely optional and can be disabled or deleted at any time from within the app.

Advertising (Google AdMob): The App may display ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect advertising ID, IP address, device information, and app usage data to deliver personalised or non-personalised ads. You can opt out via your device's ad settings.

Biometric Authentication (Optional): If you enable biometric security (fingerprint or Face ID), authentication is handled entirely by your device. We do not collect, store, or access biometric data.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not store financial data on our servers
• We do not sell personal data
• We do not track your location
• We do not access contacts, camera, or microphone

Third-Party Services

The App may use: Google AdMob (advertising), Google Sign-In (authentication), and Firebase Firestore (optional cloud sync). These services operate independently and have their own privacy policies.

Data Retention & Deletion

• Local Data: Stored on your device, deleted when you uninstall the app or manually clear data.
• Cloud Data (if enabled): Can be deleted at any time via app settings.
• Google Account Data: Access can be revoked from your Google account settings.

Children's Privacy

Money Trail is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be notified within the app. Continued use of the App indicates acceptance of updates.
